About Rae & Co. Salon

Rae & Co. is a small boutique salon specializing in curly hair and haircolor.

Our goal is to create bespoke cut and color designed to be worn with your natural texture to provide ease of maintenance and a seamless grow out. Let us teach you how to love and care for your natural hair!

The salon was started in 1972 by Rae’s parents Jerry and Ellen Levito.

Rae grew up in the salon watching her father work and helping her mom with bookkeeping on the weekends. While she was finishing beauty school, Rae’s father passed away suddenly and she went to work at the salon to help out.

She has always had a love and strong background in haircolor but was introduced to curls by Lorraine Massey in 1998 when she watched her transform a woman to her natural texture with a bucket of water and conditioner. I had always thought every person should be able to have a great haircut and be able to let it air dry from straight to super curly. Then came the dry cut and it all made sense. We wear our hair dry, why are we cutting it wet and hoping it does or doesn’t shrink up?

As we move into our next phase of Rae & Co. we hope to add a new layer of consciousness to our business by trying to offer cleaner organic products, greener recycling efforts, and energy techniques.
